Jiaherb's recently obtained patent for KavaKalm is focused on the technology and method used to separate kavalacton and flavokawain. Specifically, it outlines the process for isolating these compounds to produce microencapsulated kavalactone. 

The separation method involves grinding the Kava Root, piper methysticum, and extracting it using supercritical carbon dioxide at various temperatures and extraction pressures. This process collects both oils and residue for further use. Subsequent re-extraction and adsorption are performed on the oil, which crystallizes the primary product, kavalactone. This kavalactone is then used to create the microencapsulated kavalactone finished product.
